About Anne Welsh
Anne Welsh co-founded Arise Consult in 2014 with a vision to offer an end-to-end service for clients looking to invest or do business in Africa, focusing on delivering results through local experts on a global scale. Arise Consult has consistently disrupted the communication and investment services industry by evolving its capabilities and delivering a unique, single-source solution to companies, governments, family offices, and individuals. The firm achieves its clients’ aspirations through tailored, practical, and innovative investment advisory and financial solutions across multiple industries in Africa.
In 2015, Anne led a team to support the development of South Sudan, a new country working to bring peace, security, and investment for rebuilding. She also spearheaded market research initiatives to help companies understand future market needs and target groups, a growing focus in Africa. Arise Consult has worked with diverse clients across the region, including in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, South Sudan, Angola, Senegal, and Kenya.
Anne is also the CEO of Painless Universal, a health platform that challenges conventional views on managing pain through storytelling and advisory services, promoting care for vulnerable people. As a Women’s Advocate, she focuses on the intersection of pain and mental well-being. A global leader in Sickle Cell awareness, she is a best-selling author, an investment advisor for African countries, and the former Chairperson of the Sickle Cell Society UK.
Anne has appeared on numerous media outlets and has previously worked for prominent financial institutions. She engages with leaders and corporations on issues close to her heart, such as parenting, education, child and inter-generational poverty, women’s rights, financial literacy, and mental health. Anne holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance from the University of Hertfordshire and an MSc in Investment Management from Cass Business School.
